FACEIT level vs Premier rank: how they actually compare
Is FACEIT harder than Premier? What FACEIT level matches your CS Rating, and why a perfect conversion table doesn't exist.
“What’s my FACEIT level in Premier?” is one of the most searched CS2 questions, and the honest answer starts with a warning: there’s no official conversion. The two systems measure different player pools with different rules. A rough comparison is still useful, though, if you know what drives it.
Why the numbers don’t line up cleanly
- Different player pools. FACEIT players are, on average, more committed: they installed a separate client and anti-cheat just to play. The same skill tends to land lower on FACEIT than in Premier.
- Different rating systems. Premier uses CS Rating, a number that keeps climbing into the tens of thousands. FACEIT compresses everyone into levels 1 to 10 on an ELO scale.
- Regions matter. A Premier rating means something different on a quiet regional leaderboard than on a crowded one.
A rough way to place yourself
Community comparisons usually agree on the shape, even when the exact numbers differ:
| FACEIT | What it usually feels like in Premier |
|---|---|
| Levels 1–3 | Lower Premier ratings, where people are still learning maps |
| Levels 4–6 | The big middle of Premier |
| Levels 7–8 | Solidly above-average Premier players |
| Level 9 | Upper Premier, with consistent aim and utility |
| Level 10 | Top Premier ratings and higher |
Treat this as a feel guide, not a converter. Plenty of players sit two “rows” apart between the systems.
Is FACEIT harder than Premier?
For most players, yes. The anti-cheat requirement and the 5v5 queue culture mean fewer throwaway accounts and more people who actually communicate. Many players who sit comfortably in Premier find FACEIT a level or two “lower” than they expected at first.
Which one should you grind?
- Premier if you want quick games and the in-game experience.
- FACEIT if you want stricter anti-cheat, better average teammates and a level that recruiters and teams actually look at.
Make FACEIT less of a lottery
The hardest part of FACEIT is that every lobby is full of strangers. Prefire fixes that: every player’s recent K/D, ADR, win rate, role and streak shows right on their card, plus a win chance for both teams. You know what kind of lobby you’re in before the knife round.
